Great Input = Great Output (Street Art)

Number 5 IS ALIVE! …in Germany

The stencil artist known as JPS recently uploaded pictures of his newest life-sized piece that features the knowledge-craving robot spreading a good word to the creative masses (albeit through an unlawful graffiti habit he obviously picked up from the NYC Los Locos gang):

From the classic 1986 sci-fi-comedy SHORT CIRCUIT,a well made movie with a neat story that still holds upNumber 5 is a prototype military robot with sentience. Self-aware and information hungry, #5 can devour a book in seconds, making him a positive role-model as well as a voracious reader.“More input, Stephanie! More,” said Number 5 as he tossed another encyclopedia over his shoulder, adding it to the pile of books scattered throughout Stephanie’s modest home.

Funnily enough, the first video I ever uploaded on YouTube 14 years ago was the movie’s official music video, that still receives views and comments to this day.

El DeBarge — “Who’s Johnny” (1986)

Aahh, now that’s some wholesome output mang. Thank you writer-director John Badham from the bottom of my childhood’s heart, and massive praise to the late Syd Mead for designing the iconic “Johnny 5.” A collection of his concepts can be found in The Movie Art of Syd Mead: Visual Futurist.
