Meme: “You think this text can stop me?” 👻🗡️

I first saw this trend play out from a jilted lover approaching the camera to confront their relationship drama head-on. I found it amusing but I wasn’t going to blog it, not until I saw Ghostface adopt the format to promote Scream 7 for Paramount Pictures, and I knew then that the answer justified the memes: No, text will not stop me either; it provokes 👊

Practical VFX artist Zack King often breaks the fourth wall in his videos, and I think with him is where the trend has peaked, and can stop, please.

@zachking

The meme’s originator is Xylihun, and it’s apparent after viewing his collected style:

Scream 8 3D pitch: Cast Xylihun as the killer. So meta. Most won’t see it coming; fans will love it. You think this text will be screenshot?

Plot twist: Xylihun has lost the family business selling high-quality knives and custom sharp stuff over consumer 3d-printing technology. He blames Sidney Prescott for fast-tracking the legislation necessary to aid forensic examiners to determine craftsmanship, that put Xylihun out of business. [Insert some passage from her fictional book, here.] Hello, rich people, lit-b’s joining you. I take banker’s checks.
